Its a day of celebration here in Portugal.. everyone gives a cake to their
friends and family , they talk about the birth of jesus, and thank him for all the good things he gives us.. and in the early evening cut the "Bolo rei". and sometimes even a small little gift.

Dear Val, now I have really learnt something! I did not know where this folkway came from! We also celebrate it here in Switzerland but we only eat the cake and a little plastic king is hidden in it. If it is in your piece of cake you may wear a crown all day... it is a nice thing especially for children. Thank you so much for this wonderful post! xxx
